SOME VERBS AND ADJECTIVES DO NOT FOLLOW INFINITIVE AFTER THEM,,,,

Today we will learn about some such verbs and adjectives, which do not use infinitive (To + V1st) after them. 
instead of infinitive , They use Gerund (+ ING)

These are verbs or adjectives which are used GERUND VERB after them,,,,

ABSTAIN FROM, 
AIM AT, 
BASED ON, 
CONFIDENT OF, 
DESIROUS OF, 
DISQUALIFIED FROM, 
EXCUSE FOR, 
FORTUNATE IN, 
HOPEFUL OF,
 INSIST ON,
 NEGLIGENT IN, 
PASSION FOR, 
PREVENT FROM,
 PRIDE IN, 
PROHIBIT FROM, 
PROUD OF, 
SUCCEED IN,
 SUCCESSFUL IN, 
THINK OF, 
HINDER FROM, 
AND INTEND ON. 

Let's understand through examples, 

Ex:- you are disqualified from playing this match. 

Ex:- Indian team is confident of winning the world cup. 

Ex:- I am fortunate in having a friend like you. 

Ex:- He was prevented from meeting the outsiders. 

Ex:- She excused for getting late. 

Ex:- The students have succeed in explaining their views. 


Note: -" To" is used with infinitive but some verbs use infinitive without "To", 

BID, LET, MAKE SEE, HEAR, WILL, WOULD.  SHALL SHOULD CAN, COULD MAY, MIGHT, MUST, DO, DID, HAD BETTER, HAD RATHER, ETC.


Ex:- Let me do this work. 

Ex:- She made me understand. 

Ex:- He will inform us as soon as possible. 

Ex:- All the candidates must answer at least five out of ten questions. 

Ex:- If she were bird, she would fly in the sky. 

Ex:- We should follow trafic rules while crossing the road. 

That's all about the verbs and adjectives which use Gerund instead of infinitive,,,,,,

NON - CONTINUOUS VERB

Non-continuous verbs   Some verbs can not be used in continuous tense because such verbs are not used in the ING form. Similar verbs are called non-continuous verbs. Non-continuous verbs includes these characteristics (1) verbs that use thinking (2) verbs that show possession (3) verbs that reflect emotion, mental state, and condition (4) Verbs that reflect perception. Non continuous verb में शामिल होती है ये विशेषताएं होती हैं (1)  ऐसी क्रियाओं जो सोचने मे प्रयोग होती है (2) ऐसी क्रियाएं जो आधिकार दर्शाती हो (3) ऐसी क्रियाएं जो भावना, मानसिक दशा, और दशा को दर्शाती हो (4) ऐसी क्रियाएं जो जो धारणा को दर्शाती हो! (1) verbs that use in thinking:-  think, know, mean, mind, remember, suppose, etc . (2) verbs that show possession :-  own, have, belong, comprise, possess, contain, consist, and etc. (3) verbs that reflect emotion, mental state, and condition :-  believe, like, dislike, love, adore, want, wish, desire, hate, agree, trust, imag...

USE OF HAVE

Use of have Have often means to own or possess . (Have) अक्सर खुद के पास या होने का मतलब है। Have always used according to subject (Have) का प्रयोग हमेशा सब्जेक्ट के अनुसार किया जाता है Look at the subjects and their helping verbs. "HAVE" use with the subject I, YOU, THEY, AND WE. AND "HAS" use with the subject HE, SHE, IT, NAME. To make a positive statement. Subject + have/has + object. Ex- she has a pen. Ex-उसके पास एक पेन है Ex- I have knowledge. Ex- मेरे पास ज्ञान है To make a Negative statement. Subject + do /does + not + have + object. Note: to make Negative and Interrogative statements, all subjects have is used. Ex- she doesn't have a pen. Ex- उसके पास पेन नहीं है Ex- I don't have knowledge. Ex- मेरे पास ज्ञान नहीं है To make an Interrogative statement. Do/Does + subject + have + object? Ex- does she have a pen? Ex- क्या उसके पास पेन है Ex- do I have knowledge?
