Confusion is always found in the use of LESS, FEWER, LEAST and FEWEST among children, today, we will try to clear this confusion through this blog ,,,
First of all, it is important to know which part of the SPEECH they are, which means they are called ADJECTIVE,,,
(1) LESS, and LEAST, LITTLE'S COMPARTIVE and SUPERLATIVE forms are,,,,
FEWER and FEWEST is COMPARATIVE and SUPERLATIVE FORM OF FEW,,,,
I hope you have understood this by now,,
ADJECTIVE is always used to describe the attribute of NOUN,,
It means, the adjective has to be placed before the noun.
(2) LITTLE , LESS, and LEAST are used before a noun that cannot be counted, while FEW, FEWER and FEWEST are used before a noun that can be counted.
Ex:- I have little knowledge about him.
Ex:- She saves less money than me.
Ex:- There is the least chance of winning India against Australia.
Ex:- Few hours are remain to finish this innings.
Ex :- She used to solve fewer sums than him.
Ex:- I used to commit the fewest mistakes in the class.
Note :- less is quite common before plural nouns as well as uncountable noun.
Ex :- She has faced less problems than she used to.
Ex:- They revised less lessons in the class than I used to do.
Ex:- I have taken less decisions than I used to take.
