QUANTIFIERS ( PART - B) Both is widely used with (of) especially when it is followed by a noun or pronoun.
This and that work with singular countable noun as well singular uncountable noun.
Ex:- This book is not mine.
Ex:- That boy is looking at you.
(6) THESE / THOSE,
These and those work with plural Countable noun but both avoid with the use of uncountable noun.
Ex:- These books are intresting to read.
Ex:- Those boys are playing in the ground.
Ex:- These players play for india.
Ex:- Those girls are watching movie.
(7) Both,
In english grammar, Both works as an Adjective as well conjunctions.
As a conjunctions it works with and, it is known as a both - and.
Both - and, is listed in co - relative conjunctions.
Both - and, works for equality, means whatever parts of speech is placed after both than the same parts of speech is placed after and.
Look at the example,
Ex:- Both india and Pakistan fought with each other in 1999.
In this case, you can look same parts of speech is working.
Now, as an Adjective,
In the role of adjective,
Both works as a number which means(two).
Look at the example,
Ex:- Both played well in the last match.
Ex:- Both have completed work in time.
But it also works with noun, after both plural Countable noun is used.
Ex:- Both of the boys are intelligent.
Ex:- Both of the matches are important for india.
Note:- Some others important aspects of both.
