SIMPLE PAST TENSE




Past simple tense or simple past tense, it is
master of all tenses, past simple tense helps to express past routine action, past events, past incidents,and it also shows completed action took place at a specific time in the past. The simple past is also frequently used to talk about past habits and generalizations.

In past simple tense second form of verb is used to make a statement.

To make a positive statement this format is used.

         Subject + V2 + OBJECT.
Ex- She went to school.
Ex- they played well.


To make Negative statement. 

          Subject + did +not+ V1 +object.
Ex- she did not go to school.
Ex- they did not play well.

To make Introgative statement. 

          Did + subject + V1 + object +?

Ex- did she go to school?
Ex- did they play well?

Some special features where past simple tense is used. 

(1) IN CONDITIONAL SENTENCES
  To show unfulfilled wish, condition, desire,in present  conditional sentence is used. These words help to make conditional sentence. as if, as though, i wish, if, if only, and etc. 

(a) I wish I were the C.M. of Haryana.
(b) If I had a map I would have give it to him.
(c) I wish I were a bird.

(2) TWO ACTIONS IN A SEQUENCE

With the help of (when) two actions in a sequence is made in a statement, let' look at the example,. 

Ex- (a) When he opened the window, the bird flew out.
Ex- (b) When the play ended, the audience went home.

(3) ADVERBS OF TIME FOR PAST TENSE

These are the words which are known as a adverb of time.. 
a few moments (minutes/ days/ weeks/ months) ago, a moment ago, last night/ evening/ week/ year/
winter/ spring, the other day, yesterday, the other morning. 
Ex- we discussed all the pros and cons yesterday.
Ex- She came to Delhi three years ago.

NON - CONTINUOUS VERB

Non-continuous verbs   Some verbs can not be used in continuous tense because such verbs are not used in the ING form. Similar verbs are called non-continuous verbs. Non-continuous verbs includes these characteristics (1) verbs that use thinking (2) verbs that show possession (3) verbs that reflect emotion, mental state, and condition (4) Verbs that reflect perception. Non continuous verb में शामिल होती है ये विशेषताएं होती हैं (1)  ऐसी क्रियाओं जो सोचने मे प्रयोग होती है (2) ऐसी क्रियाएं जो आधिकार दर्शाती हो (3) ऐसी क्रियाएं जो भावना, मानसिक दशा, और दशा को दर्शाती हो (4) ऐसी क्रियाएं जो जो धारणा को दर्शाती हो! (1) verbs that use in thinking:-  think, know, mean, mind, remember, suppose, etc . (2) verbs that show possession :-  own, have, belong, comprise, possess, contain, consist, and etc. (3) verbs that reflect emotion, mental state, and condition :-  believe, like, dislike, love, adore, want, wish, desire, hate, agree, trust, imag...

USE OF HAVE

Use of have Have often means to own or possess . (Have) अक्सर खुद के पास या होने का मतलब है। Have always used according to subject (Have) का प्रयोग हमेशा सब्जेक्ट के अनुसार किया जाता है Look at the subjects and their helping verbs. "HAVE" use with the subject I, YOU, THEY, AND WE. AND "HAS" use with the subject HE, SHE, IT, NAME. To make a positive statement. Subject + have/has + object. Ex- she has a pen. Ex-उसके पास एक पेन है Ex- I have knowledge. Ex- मेरे पास ज्ञान है To make a Negative statement. Subject + do /does + not + have + object. Note: to make Negative and Interrogative statements, all subjects have is used. Ex- she doesn't have a pen. Ex- उसके पास पेन नहीं है Ex- I don't have knowledge.
