Hello friends,
In this blog, i am going to discuss the multiple uses of die, i have noticed that many students do blundering to us of" die".
As a teacher, this is my responsibility that i should teach them to use english correctly,
Lets discuss the use of ("die" )
Die means no more but some times students use it wrongly, it depends how you use it in the statement. Lets look,
Don't say:
Don't say:
Many people have died from malaria.
Say:
Say:
Many people have died of malaria.
Lets see how to use it,
Basically it depends on words and which words and what preposition should be used,
Here are some logics,
1) If someone suffers any disease then with suffering the preposition from is used after suffer and before name of disease.
Look at the example,
Ex:-She is suffering 👉from malaria.
You can also use "for" in the place of "from" but if disease is not mentioned in the sentence.
Note:- for is also used before but talking bad habits.
Look at the example,
Ex:- she will suffer👉 for her bad habits.
This example bad habits have discussed not disease.
2) if someone dies any disease then the name of disease preposition "of" is placed after die and before name of disease.
Ex:- she died of cancer,
In this case, with the word died is used then of is placed after it.
Some more logics are mentioned below⬇️, you can also use them according to the situations
"of hunger,"
"of thirst,"
"from wounds"
"from overwork"
"by violence,"
"by the sword,"
"by pestilence"
"in battle,"
"in poverty
"for their country,"
"for a cause"
"through neglect";
I hope you will share your experiences through comments on this blog.
